A unique feature of the Fast Flow air filter is the use of flame retardant material in manufacture.  

One key problem with the use of full foam filters on the twin choke carburettor is igniting of the filter following backfire emitting a flame from the carburettor. 

This can be a very expensive issue as an air filter fire will often see the carburettor ruined by molten foam that is almost impossible to remove from the carburettor. 

With that in mind, the Fast Flow air filter for the weber 32/36 carburettor has been constructed using a filtering foam that not only maintains a high airflow rate, but also has enhanced properties that withstand a flame far greater than that of a standard filter foam predominantly used in air filter construction.  

A fire retardant substance is used in the manufacture of the foam to reduce flammability, delay ignition and reduce the spread of fire. 

This leads to the Fast Flow air filter offering far greater protection from the risk of air filter fire caused by backfire than any comparable filter currently on the market while also maintaining an airflow rate that meets the standards set by the most popular filters available.
